What’s left after
your expenses?
Change the numbers to see your cash surplus. In the workbook, this is calculated from the transactions you record, including your estimated PayPal fees.
Choose a currency label for this example. This does not convert exchange rates. Cash surplus is not the same as full accounting profit.

A few useful details
Before you start.
Do I need spreadsheet experience?
The Start Here sheet explains the steps, and a separate Example sheet shows the calculations. You’ll need an application that opens XLSX files and to enter your records in the yellow cells.
Can I use euros or pounds?
Yes. Choose USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, or AUD in Settings. Use one currency for each copy of the workbook. The selection labels your amounts; it does not convert exchange rates. The purchase price is US$5.
Are the estimated fees my actual PayPal fees?
Fee settings start at zero. Enter the percentage and fixed fee that apply to your account. Estimates apply only to income marked PayPal. Record income before fees and reconcile the estimates with your payment-provider statement.
Does this calculate accounting profit or taxes?
It shows recorded income minus recorded expenses and estimated payment fees. It does not calculate tax returns, sales tax, VAT, inventory valuation, or accruals. Use it to organise simple cash movements.
Does it connect to my bank account?
No. You enter your own transactions. The opening balance starts at zero and can be changed to your own figure. The workbook does not verify bank or PayPal balances.
